Play Group Meets Bob the Builder

Bob (aka) Paul Williamson is director of construction at Otley.

He showed them around his department and let them participate in a fun thirty minute painting session.

The youngsters, from the Otley Under five play group, also got to see some snakes and fish in the animal studies area.

This was the nurseries third visit to the college in recent years.

Previously they buried a time capsule in college grounds that will be dug up in the year 2017.

Mel Soames from the under fives group, said, “We have built up a great relationship with the college.”

“We approached them as we were learning about building and construction this week, and they were very helpful in organising the visit.”

Paul Williamson, said, “As a college we are incredibly keen to work with the local Community and it was great to be able to host this visit.”

“I must admit that dressing up as Bob the Builder isn’t in the job description but I was happy to do this and hope that the visit sparked an enthusiasm for the college and construction.”

“Who knows, maybe some of the youngsters will come back to Otley and study with us in the future.”
