Freshers’ Fair Helps Students Find Their Feet
[16/09/2009]Thousands of students were welcomed back to Otley College this week with a Fresher’s Fair.
Fun events included a treasure hunt, karaoke sessions and a fashion event.
The Freshers’ Fair held was supported by many organisations giving information and guidance on a range of issues from healthy living to road safety.
2009/10 has seen record numbers of students take up courses at Otley.
“Many students have returned to continue their studies with Otley College. This week was primarily designed to help our new starters get to know each other and feel relaxed in their new environment,” said Head of Student Services, Janet Perry.
“This is an exciting time to be at one of the regions fastest growing colleges as we approaching our fortieth anniversary and we are very much looking forward to the year ahead.”
She added, “Some places are still left on some courses so it’s still not too late for students to come to Otley and study a variety of disciplines.”
Major Mike Robinson, who was in charge of an army careers stand, said, “It was great to attend this event. We talked to lots of students about our new further education bursary scheme and look forward to coming back to Otley later in the year.”
