UCS Otley hosts Open Evening
[13/05/2009]UCS Otley is opening its doors to potential higher education students at an open day on Thursday 14 May 2009.
The event lasts from 6.45pm to 9pm.
Those attending can get information about the courses on offer, talk to tutors and discuss any other queries about university life.
UCS Otley is part of Suffolk’s first dedicated higher education institution - University Campus Suffolk.
In 2008/09, UCS Otley will be teaching Foundation degree’s in Animal Science and Welfare, Animal Science and Welfare (Equine Health), Wildlife Management and Conservation, Landscape and Garden Design and Sustainable Land Use Management.
(UCS Otley also offers two and ten week courses designed to give teachers the opportunity of gaining a qualification that will give them good preparation to teach in further education).
UCS Otley has also just opened a brand new centre that offers an area for higher education students to relax or study in between lectures.
Denis McAuley who is Head of HE at UCS Otley, said, “We are looking forward to welcoming potential students to the centre this week.
“We have a history of providing a variety of degree options over the years and as UCS expands so will UCS Otley.
“The event will be a great opportunity for prospective students to come and have a look around the centre and get a feel for life at Otley and we look forward to welcoming them,” he added.
