The rise in popularity of coffee has been phenomenal in this country over the last few years.
As a consequence of this, the amount of people who now have their own coffee machines - (along with the amount of people working in the coffee industry) " has dramatically risen.
So, Suffolk based coffee champions " Paddy and Scott’s " have teamed up with Otley College to create a brand barista (coffee) training course for coffee converts to embrace.
Paddy Bishop, said, “We have enjoyed our dealings with Otley College in the past and we are really looking forward to working on this project. The course is ideal for people who are looking to gain knowledge and improve their coffee making skills.”
“Or, if you are just looking for a great day full of fun then this course is ideal.”
Heather Gray, from Otley College’s foodskills team, said, “We have worked with Paddy and Scotts on a variety of projects but we have always wanted to work with them on a more permanent basis.”
“After a few discussions, we came up with the idea of a barista course based at the college and we have just put the finishing touches to a relaxed coffee shop style training environment for trainees to enjoy.”
The first barista training course took place on Friday 2 October at the college.
Other courses will take place throughout the next 12 months that will include both one and three day courses. (The course costs £60.00).
