As a result of the partnership local residents now have the opportunity to make the most of their finances via a ‘Personal Money Management’ course.
The course can be completed in a 12 to 26 week timescale.
All those who take up the flexible learning option will gain an accredited certificate that can be added to their CV’s.
The scheme is one of many courses available on Otley College’s distance learning programme.
(The idea behind distant learning is for participants to study when it suits them. You can do the courses to fit around your lifestyle - either at home, online, on the bus or whenever you have free time).
Andy Sparks, Director of Business Services at Otley College, said, “With money issues being so prominent throughout the world at the moment, we thought that this would be an ideal time for business and education to come together to advise the local community on financial issues.”
Ipswich Building Society is promoting the course through its branch network in Suffolk and you can apply for further information by visiting any Ipswich Building Society branch.
Paul Winter, Chief Executive commented, “We are very keen to work with the local community in as many ways as possible and assist them through these times.”
“We believe that this course is part of our wider commitment in helping local people make the most of their finances and we are delighted to be working with Otley College,” he added.
