He was presented with a goody bag and a £50 high street voucher from Otley"s Director of Curriculum " Jenny Milsom " at the college"s fifth conference dedicated to students earlier this week. (City & Guilds supplied both prizes).
Gareth Fitchett was the lucky learner. He is studying on an electrical installation course and found out that he had passed this particular City and Guilds qualification minutes after taking the test.
"This is one of the benefits of the Global Online Assessment (GOLA) system," according to Carole Bland, Customer Relationship Manager at City & Guilds.
"Set up 6 years ago, the system is a single testing solution that can test candidates anytime, anywhere in the world (as long as you have a computer with access to the internet) and learners get to find out how they have done almost immediately."
She added, "We are delighted that an Otley learner has become our three millionth test taker."
The presentation helped launch Otley"s fifth student conference during an event that was aimed at engaging with students and listening to their views on college life.
Jenny Milsom from the college, said, "It is important that students feel as though they belong to the college and that they have a voice to express the issues that concern them, and this event provided an excellent opportunity for them to have their say."
"We were also delighted that Gareth reached such a prestigious learning landmark and we look forward to continuing to work with City & Guilds in the future."
