Welcome to the website of the Corporation of Otley College. The site aims to provide detailed information about the Members of the Governing Body of the College and the work they do on behalf of the Students and Staff of the College. I hope that it will help you to understand more about the role of the Corporation.
The duties of the Corporation are specified in the Instrument and Articles of Government, the College Standing Orders and Codicils to Standing Orders. Collectively, individual Governors contribute their professional, specialist and general management skills to the Corporation (and through its committees and working parties) in a non-executive role. A Governor is required to be as flexible as possible in the conduct of their responsibilities and duties, ensuring that the balance of oversight of the College and its business is seen as a positive contribution that does not interfere with the day-to-day management of the College.
As well as the Instruments and Articles of Government and the College Standing Orders, the site contains details of Individual Governors, their terms of office and Register of Interests. It also includes Committee Terms of Reference and Membership along with agendas and non-confidential minutes of Corporation and Committee meetings. All of these documents are available on the website and in hard copy from the Clerk.
Should you have any concerns or wish to make a complaint about the workings of the Corporation, an individual Governor or the Clerk to the Corporation please refer to the complaints procedure.
Please take the time to view the site and if you have any comments I would be happy to receive them.
