This short course will focus on the theoretical and practical issues associated with beekeeping in the classroom. Health & Safety, hive types, seasonal management, honey extraction and pests and diseases will all be discussed. This course is suitable for complete beginners and those with some knowledge who wish to gain a further insight into the world of Apiculture. A Saturday morning session may be arranged. The summer term will have some practical content.

This is a 8 week practical course for those wanting to learn the basic methods of MIG and MMA (manual metal arc) welding. Students will be shown how to use equipment safely and how to carry out basic welding joints to steel. Steel toe capped shoes and safety overalls must be worn for this course. Course cost reflects maximum of 8 students and includes materials. On satisfactory completion of the course, you will be awarded an Otley College Certificate of Attendance.See details...
