Electrical Installation - Introduction

Aim of course

This course provides an introduction to the electrical installation industry.

What does the course involve?

Students will receive a mixture of theory and practical training which will be regularly assessed by competence in practical activities, evidence of knowledge and some examinations.

Course contents

Students will learn about the basic principles of electrical installation, workshop skills, Health & Safety and carry out project work. Three Functional Skills (literacy, numeracy and ICT) will also be studied as an integral part of the Diploma teaching.

What qualifications do I need?

No formal qualifications are required but candidates will be asked to sit an aptitude test. Candidates must also have in interest in electrical studies and a willingness to succeed.

What can I do after the course?

Learners can progress onto the City & Guilds Level 2 Electrotechnical Technology course or onto an apprenticeship.
