Aim of course
This award provides further underpinning knowledge in electrotechnology and safety, required for anyone planning to take up a career in this industry.
What will the course involve?
The course combines generic electrotechnical knowledge with a range of units in electrical installation such as Application of health & safety; Electrical Principles; Inspection, Testing & Commissioning and Fault Diagnosis & Rectification. Course Content
Practical and theory work is assessed and tested continuously throughout the course. Functional skills in either numeracy, ICT and literacy will be studied as an integral part of the qualification. What can I do afterwards?
A succesful candidate can look forward to an apprenticeship or employment in electrical installation or study C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing.What do I need?

This is a 8 week practical course for those wanting to learn the basic methods of MIG and MMA (manual metal arc) welding. Students will be shown how to use equipment safely and how to carry out basic welding joints to steel. Steel toe capped shoes and safety overalls must be worn for this course. Course cost reflects maximum of 8 students and includes materials. On satisfactory completion of the course, you will be awarded an Otley College Certificate of Attendance.See details...
