Aim of course
This course is for those students wishing to embark upon a career in electrical engineering. If successful you will achieve C & G 2330 Level 2 Certificate in electro-technical technology and one functional skill.
What will the course involve?
Areas of study include Practical electrical wiring systems; principles of electro-technology; installation (buildings & structures); health & safety; electrical wiring regulations; electrical measurement. You will be assessed throughout the course on practical tasks, through examinations and will be required to complete assignment work.Course Content
Assessment and testing continues throughout the course on both practical and theory work. Functional skills in either numeracy, ICT and literacy will be studied as an integral part of the qualification. What can I do afterwards?
This course could lead on to employment as an Apprentice working under supervision, progressing to qualified Electrician status with further study at College and on-site training or progression onto the City & Guilds Level 3 Electro-technical Technology course.What do I need?
You will need three GCSEs at grade C or above including maths and science. You will also need good numeracy and literacy skills along with an interest in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.Who do I contact about this course?

This is a 8 week practical course for those wanting to learn the basic methods of MIG and MMA (manual metal arc) welding. Students will be shown how to use equipment safely and how to carry out basic welding joints to steel. Steel toe capped shoes and safety overalls must be worn for this course. Course cost reflects maximum of 8 students and includes materials. On satisfactory completion of the course, you will be awarded an Otley College Certificate of Attendance.See details...
