Aim of course
The aim of the course is to prepare experienced carpenters for a supervisory role in the industry.
What will the course involve?
This course will provide in-depth tuition, building on skills gained in the Level 2 Diploma or industry, using a mix of practical and theory assessment throughout the course culminating in a written exam to test knowledge.Course Content
Specific areas of study include: advanced roofs, doors, stairs, power tools and woodworking machinery, site organisation, safety and supervision of contracts.The Level 3 Diploma Carpentry is studied one day/week over one year.
What can I do afterwards?
On completion of this course you would be considered for an NVQ 3 in Wood Occupations. As the NVQ is only assessed in the workplace, you would need to find employment with a company whose work covered all the required units of the NVQ. What do I need?
Applicants will need to have achieved a Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry or have 3-4 years? trade experience. A vocational entrance test may also be given if the above criteria cannot be met.Who do I contact about this course?
