Aim of course
What is the aim of the course?
This course will provide essential skills for anyone wishing to maintain buildings and structures and their interior and exterior fixtures and fittings.
What will the course involve?
The course contains a mixture of practical assessments and theory culminating in a final online examination. Candidates aged 16-19 yrs will also study a Level 2 NCFE qualification which researches project management and one Functional Skill and will attend college for four days a week, mature students only study the Level 2 Diploma and need only attend for two days (these days will be decided by the Course Tutor to ensure that all areas are covered). The Functional Skill will be studied as an integral part of both the Diploma and NCFE qualifications. What will I need?
This course requires 2 GCSEs at grade D or above, or equivalent.All applicants are asked to carry out a skills assessment to determine the support they require to be successful on this course.

Building methods and construction technology
Small-scale masonry trade repairs
Small-scale painting, decorating and associated trade repairs
Small-scale plastering trade repairs
Small-scale plumbing trade repairs
Small-scale wood trade repairs
