Roof Slating & Tiling Diploma (Part time)

Aim of course
This course will provide a qualification for those candidates wishing to progress into employment in roofing or for those from within the industry who are wishing to gain a recognised qualification within roofing.
What will the course involve?
The course contains a mixture of practical and theory based activity covering all aspects of the roof slating and tiling industry. Assignments and projects are an essential part of this course. This part-time Level 2 Diploma is studied for one day/week over two years.
Course Content
Areas of study include health and safety, slates, concrete tiles, pantiles, plain tiles and lead work and the opportunity to learn in a realistic environment with full size indoor and outdoor roofing rigs. What can I do afterwards?
On completion of this course you would be considered for a part-time Level 3 Diploma or NVQ 2 in Roof Slating & Tiling. As the NVQ is only assessed in the workplace, you would need to find employment with a company whose work covered all the required units of the NVQ. What do I need?
Numeracy and literacy skills at Level 1 would be an advantage.Who do I contact about this course?

This is a 8 week practical course for those wanting to learn the basic methods of MIG and MMA (manual metal arc) welding. Students will be shown how to use equipment safely and how to carry out basic welding joints to steel. Steel toe capped shoes and safety overalls must be worn for this course.
