Chainsaw Felling Medium Sized Trees - NPTC CS32

Aim of course
This training is a legal requirement. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) require employers to provide adequate training and to ensure that chainsaws and related equipment are operated only by employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use. Anyone working in or on trees is expected to hold a recognised certificate of competence. If you are self-employed, the regulations still apply. All training days prepare the course member to meet the required NPTC (National Proficiency Tests Council) assessment. The assessment day will take place by mutual arrangement after the training days are completed.
What will the course involve?
This training course is for those required to fell trees between 15? (380mm) and 30? (760mm) in diameter. The training covers on-site risk assessment and emergency procedures, felling medium sized trees, sned or de-limb trees, cross-cut stems, select winching equipment for takedown, and taking down a tree using a winch.What can I do afterwards?
Successful candidates can progress to the CS33 (Felling Large Trees)What do I need?
CS30 and CS31 are pre-requisites for this course.Equipment Needed
Course members will need to provide their own PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), which must carry current CE markings, a personal first-aid kit and pea-less whistle. You must be fit to undertake this training and ideally be 18 years of age or over.Fees

This is a 8 week practical course for those wanting to learn the basic methods of MIG and MMA (manual metal arc) welding. Students will be shown how to use equipment safely and how to carry out basic welding joints to steel. Steel toe capped shoes and safety overalls must be worn for this course.
