Can we help?

If you can't find what you are looking for, then visit our help page for useful information

We are not in a position of enrolling any learners on distance learning courses due to the end of our funding. We are unsure at present what the funding situation will be in September 2010, so please check with us. If you wish to do an NVQ, we are hoping to access a new funding stream from April onwards so please contact us then.
Thank you

Distance Learning

The best thing about Distance Learning is that our programmes are designed to work around your lifestyle. You can study at home, at work, in the garden, on the bus or whenever you can spare some free time.

The subjects we teach are incredibly diverse ranging from stress management, drug awareness, handling of medicines to food safety and nutrition and health.
It is an incredibly flexible learning method. One in which our students have achieved excellent success rates in recent years.

And whilst you may not visit Otley, we pride ourselves with the excellent support that we give to all of our students.

How does it work?

All our courses have learning support materials, which guide you through the course, and the assessments are completed in your own time through a series of question papers (short answer) or, depending on the course, assessor visits.

How to choose your course?

Our programmes are for anyone from 19 years or over. However some programmes might be more suitable for 16 -18 year olds or might even require the learner to be working in the relevant job, so it is best to enquire on a per course basis. If you are unsure and need guidance, please call Pascale on 01473 784137 for an informal chat.

Who is eligible to do the programme and what is the cost?

The majority of our programmes (except our NVQs) are fundable through the, Learning & Skills Council but in many cases, we still require a contribution in line with LSC’s policy.

The eligibility criteria have a direct impact on the cost of a course. Not being eligible to the funding only means that the final cost will be different from the one indicated on our price list, it does not mean you cannot do the course. Call Pascale on 01473 784137 for a non funded quote.

To see our eligibility criteria and the cost of the courses click on “Prices and  Eligibility criteria for funding ”

How long do the programmes take to complete?

This will depend largely on the study time available to the learner and whether the learner passes all the units of the course, but most programmes can be completed in 25 weeks or less.
