Otley was named 'Rural Business of the Year' at the Anglian Business Awards.
About Us
Otley College opened in 1970 and as we approach our 40th anniversary, we remain committed to furthering learner’s experiences in a variety of different ways.
Although historically known as an agricultural college, the reality of where the college is today is far removed from the original farming origins in which we began.
Whilst remaining tremendously proud of their agricultural roots, (and we still are a key player in this expanding industry), today, courses at Otley are incredibly diverse.
In recent years new developments at the college include a construction, equine and foodskills centre, a new dog grooming parlour, football, rugby and cricket pitches, a whole new fisheries department and an engineering block.
Currently around 5000 learners attend the college, with around half of these students studying on distance learning courses.
Otley also has a new business centre that has conference facilities for hire.
(And last year we received an Anglian Business Award, gaining the Rural Business of the Year accolade).
Whilst many traditional business courses are taught here such as management and marketing the college has also helped businesses in the arenas of chainsaw use, food manufacturing, beer production and more.
Otley also teaches courses in the following areas: Animal Studies, Apprenticeships, Conservation, Construction, Countryside Management, Engineering, Fishery Studies, Garden Design, Horse Studies, Horticulture, Leisure Learning, Outdoor Education Tree Surgery and Sport.
